After four successful consecutive years of providing quality live entertainment, Ubud Village Jazz Festival is back once again, gathering talented jazz musicians from around the globe to showcase their skills.
Take place once again at the majestic venue of Arma Ubud on 11 and 12 August, the 2017 version of UVJF will see another imaginative and eclectic line-up, pulling together a wide variety of top tier mainstream, modern, traditional and Latin performers. The highlight of the festival this year is the venerable Gerald Clayton Trio, consisting of the amazing George Clayton, accompanied by two super-talented instrumentalists; Joe Sander—one of the most soughtafter young bass players of his generation, and Gregory Hutchinson, an American drummer of modern jazz, whose some of the medias recite as “the drummer of his generation”.
As part cultural support, several countries will also send their best musical units; such as Steve Barry and group (Australia) Samy Thiebault Trio (France), and for the first time, B. Good Vogel Duo (Austria). UVJF also gives space for legendary and upcoming Indonesian jazzers, from legendary Trombone player, Benny Likumahua, who will share the stage together with his son, one of the respected young bassists in Indonesia, Barry Likumahua. Internationally acclaimed guitarist from Bali, Balawan, will also perform with his enthralling musical concept of Balinese traditional and progressive Jazz hybrid.
