On December 18th 2016, The Shanti Collection celebrated their 5th year of existence by commencing a day of Loving, Sharing & Giving at Shanti Residence Nusa Dua with the children from several orphanages around the island. On the same occasion, The Shanti Collection also featured a painting exhibition by young Balinese female artists.
Entitled ‘Woman Revolution’, the paintings explore liberation of arts and creativity of Indonesian female folk, showing how female artists express their sentiments and perceptions through the form of art. The eleven (11) participating inspiring female artists from SMK I Sukawati and Institute Seni Indonesia (ISI) Bali create figurines and paintings, which depict Balinese cultural and daily lifestyle, deliberately sharing their experiences of what constitutes woman revolution in their minds and translating it to vivid imagery. The paintings were also judged by industry veterans like wellknown Balinese architect Popo Danes, Balinese Artist Ida Bagus Indra, Mr I.Ketut Marra, S.Pd, M.Pd who has selected three top winners and a fourth favorite artist. This event aims to stimulate and inspire Balinese young artists, especially female, to express their talent through forms of arts.
